General examination
Routine dental examinations are essential to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. During an exam, we will thoroughly inspect your oral hygiene status, teeth and soft tissues.  Getting your teeth examined regularly will help us pick up on any problems early, avoiding more complex treatment.
Restorations
Dental restorations or fillings are used to replace natural tooth structure when it becomes fractured, broken or damaged by tooth decay. If you need a filling, your dentist can use a range of filling materials to fix your tooth. A filling will fix the tooth so it looks and works at its best.
Fissure sealants
Fissures are the grooves that are naturally present on the top, biting surface of the back teeth. These grooves can be very thin and deep and can cause food and bacteria to become stuck, increasing the risk of tooth decay developing inside the grooves.A fissure sealant is a thin layer of filling material placed over the grooves of the teeth to prevent food and bacteria sticking in the grooves and to decrease the risk of tooth decay developing.
Dental scaling
Dental scaling, or cleaning involves the careful removal of plaque bacteria and tartar from the tooth’s surface and just below the gumline that can't be removed with regular tooth brushing. Alongside your daily oral care having regular professional cleaning helps us to catch & prevent common tooth problems such as decay or gum disease. For patients who don't suffer from gum disease our dentist may advise a 6 or 12 monthly clean.
Airflow
We have invested in the latest technology in teeth cleaning devices to provide the most comfortable clean possible. The Airflow Master  delivers the most gentle, thorough and efficient dental clean available! The airflow device uses a very fine powder with high pressure air and water to clean the plaque off teeth like a spa experience. Air flow dental is the new way of getting the best clean available for your pearly whites.

Extractions
Sometimes it becomes necessary for a tooth to be removed because of crowding, disease or trauma. If not removed, a tooth that needs to be extracted can become problematic, resulting in pain, infection & other dental problems. If an extraction is required our friendly team help guide you through the process and advise you with any concerns you have, to ensure the most comfortable recovery & the best possible result.
Root Canal Treatment
Our natural teeth are better at doing what teeth do than even the most state-of-the-art replacement, which is why saving teeth with root canal treatment is so important. During root canal treatment, the dentist will carefully remove the pulp inside of a tooth, clean, disinfect, and shape the root canal, and then place a filling to seal the space. It’s a simple procedure that will relieve tooth pain caused by infection.
Paediatric Dental
We will help you teach your children the proper way to take care of their teeth and show them that going to the dentist can be fun. We want to provide the best pediatric experience possible. An experience that is calm and inviting. Many parents choose to have Dr. Donnelly treat their children because of his ability to deal with all types of child behavior and special needs. For more complex cases referral to a specialist paediatric dental clinic may be required
Crowns
A crown (also often called a cap) covers the entire surface of a damaged tooth and restores it to its original shape and size. Crowns are often the best option for people with badly decayed, fractured or broken teeth where a regular filling isn’t enough to repair the damage. Dental crowns can be made from a variety of materials, our dentist will assess, discuss and together help you choose one that best suits your needs.
Tooth Replacement
Not only do our teeth perform the important work of chewing our food, but they also enable us to speak and articulate words properly. They give shape to our faces and influence the way we smile. When teeth are lost, it’s important we replace them, to restore full function to the jaws and to prevent further bone loss in the jaw. At Port Fairy Dental we will thoroughly asses and discuss options to replace single or multiple teeth. Replacement options may include partial or complete dentures, implants or bridges
Cosmetic Dentistry
We want you to be happy and confident with your smile every day. If you have concerns about the aesthetics of your teeth such as the colour, position, or shape let our dentist know and we can discuss options such as whitening, veneers, orthodontics and other cosmetic procedures that will best suit your desired outcome, help improve the appearance of your smile and boost your self-esteem.
